How much

Up to £5 million allocated to fund innovation projects in this competition. Project total costs: £50,000 to £300,000 for feasibility studies, £100,000 to £1 million for industrial research, £250,000 to £2 million for experimental development.

Whole fund: £5,000,000, shared between applicants

You put in: Aligned equity investment from the investor partner must close at least at the declared minimal amount; the grant is conditional on this.

Who can apply

UK registered micro, small or medium sized businesses (SMEs) with a project aligned to the Battery Innovation Programme, invited to apply by a named investor partner who has submitted an expression of interest to Innovate UK, and who have agreed their proposal with that investor partner. Single applicants only.
